RELIENT K!!!!!

Ok so last night I went to the Relient K concert. IT WAS ABSITIVELY POSILUTELY AMAZING!!!!!! They started off with Devastation and Reform and they were planning on ending with Be my Escape except we all wanted an encore so they came out and played Deathbed. I was only about 4 feet away from Matt Thiessen. When he sweeped his hair out of his eyes I could literally see a spray of sweat rain down on the stage. Of course there were about 100 people in front of me because we were all packed in like sardines. Almost the whole time I think my cheek was resting on some random guy's shoulder. It was either that or smother my face. It got kinda scary sometimes though. When people were jumping around, especially during Classic Crime, I sometimes thought I'd fall over because all the sudden everyone would start leaning one way. I almost lost a flip flop too and my toes are bruised because people kept stepping on me. It was really hot down there and it stank like BO but the music was absolutely AMAZING. It was all I expected and more. They played the afore mentioned songs plus Who to Burry: Us or the Hatchet, Sadie Hawkins Dance (I had been wearing a blue bracelet since Christmas and at a split second choice I decided to throw it up on stage during Sadie Hawkins), The Lining is Silver, I need you, High of 75, Who I am Hates Who I've Been, Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, and Things like Chemistry, Mood Rings, and some other songs from their latest EP and even a couple new songs from their upcoming record which I will need for my ipod. They even played the subway 5 dollar foot long song which was hilarious. This definitely got space #1 in my top memories. I even got a concert T shirt. It's red and in greyish blue letters towards the top it says Relient K and then theres a big circle and in the circle it says RK only the R is backwards and right up next to the K. I'm wearing it right now. The only real downer about the night was Sabrina. She was being a spoiled, ungrateful brat. My mom bought her a T so she decided to get an Owl City one so my mom had them in her purse so we wouldn't have to carry them so she saw Classic Crime and she got Sabrina's shirt signed by them and Sabrina went on and on like a little baby about how her shirt was ruined because it was the wrong band. Who cares? It just looks like little squiggles andway so you can't even tell the difference. Its so stupid. She even cried about it and she was just being really ungrateful. And during the cocnert everytime they played another song she just whined the whole time because her favorite band was already over and she didn't want to see the other two. It was really annoying. Another bad thing was that I got less than 6 hours of sleep which really has me messed up. My moods are really swinging on a dime. First I'm zombie girl, staring at the wall blankly, then I'm in full fledged panic mode, then I'm all pissed off, then I'm laughing hysterically because there's a funny looking spot on the ceiling. I'm not kidding you. Nobody wanted to be around me today. Last night I think I was sleepwalking too. I think I got up and put a bunch of dirty clothes on my bed. Then I woke up at like 2 and I was laying in a pile of clothes. It was kinda dark and I was still half asleep and I thought the cat in the corner of my bed was a scarf or something so I started pushing her off too until she meowed at me. Poor Roxy. I interrupted her beauty sleep. Anyway the concert was amazing.

Estrofest

Estrofest was AMAZING!!! I hung out with all the girls and it was just super fun. Although we did have some car troubles before we left with 3/5 cars. Erika locked her keys in the trunk, Dary's car wouldn't start, and Heidi got a flat so all in all the cars were just out to get us. Nothing happened to the van I was in so our van and the other who had no problems stopped at an AMPM for icees. Yummy! While we were camping we were making a video kind of like kittens inspired by kittens only it was camping inspired by camping inspired by kittens inspired by kittens. We took all kinds of cool pictures. I was in one where we were near the wizards (the wizards of ooze- or the honey buckets) and we all looked disgusted. I was also in a pic that Heidi took of me sitting on a weird tree limb and another one where I had found a crook of a tree to sit in. The only bad thign about this palce is that our neighbors had a party and we really drunk. It didn't bother me because I was fast asleep but the other girls said there were people driving around and reving their engines and music blaring and a little girl crying. I went to bed somewhat early like right after smores because I didn't want to be tempted to make another because I knew if I ate more than 2 I'd feel miserable. We didn't have some boring moments near the lake so people were taking empty water bottles and screwing on the cap just a little then twisting the bottle up and popping the tops. This made great amusement and would keep us occupied for hours. I also met some random people around my age that weren't from our site. There was this hill and on top of the hill there were trees and vegetation and such and sometimes other kids would be up there so I'd introduce myself because otherwise they'd totally ignore me and pretend I wasn't there. The first tiem I met 2 girls. One was a 7th grader and the other was a sophmore from Lake Stevens High school. They were ok I guess. Then I met a guy named Zach. I believe he went to Standwood middle school. At first when I introduced myself he was just like "I'm Zach" then he ran away. He probably thought I was weird. Then I stared at him until he talked. I kinda like to induce akwardness. But eventually we talked and he was pretty nice. So anyway that was Estrofest. Afterwards, I came home and took a shower because I smelled like a campfire. Well it's almost time for me to get walking to school. More later.

Pep assemblies + spirit week = stupidity

Hellllllllllllllllllo!!!! Right now I'm skipping a pep assembly because I really don't like them and to tell the truth they're kinda of stupid. Today will be pretty fun. Actully this whole weekend will be. Right after this assembly I'm going to my Friend Catherine's who's actually right next to me on one of the other computers. After that my stepmom will pick me up and I'll hang out with her (since my Dad's up in Canada for work) without my sister (thank God) for the night. Then on Saturday morning we'll get up bright and early and eat breakfast and then I have to be at the church by 9AM because that's when we're leaving for estrofest. I packed my bag last night now all I need is my hairbrush and my book plus the stuff I have at my dad's and I'll be set. It's going to be awesomly fun. Well I have an interesting story for today. There's a guy in my math and english class that's been flirting with me since all the seats were switched up and I was placed behind him. It's kind of refreshing. So today I told him where I was going in third period English class so I was talking to him and they guy that's next to me about how awesome my trip's going to be and he said he'd miss me which I thought was very cute and then he said he'd be thinking of me, of course then he acted like he was just kidding because I guess he's still not comfortable enough to just say and it not retract it but I thought it was very cute. Then he said he loved me TWICE both in jest of course. Once he just blurted it out the second time I was talking about how I don't like running then he said "I don't like you. I love you!" It was very cute!!! Well now Catherine's making fun of me and poking me so I'll get off the subject (She's reading over my shoulder). In other news, I think I might enter one of my poems into the poetry contest at my school. Prizes include some gift cards or something and gift cards are always a good thing and if these poems are good enough for Teen Ink then the school poetry contest will be a good place to enter. I already know which poem I'm entering so no opinions please especially since the poem I'm using is a secret until it's in the contest. Then I'll post it here for those not fortunate enough to attend my high school. Well enough for now. I'll post more after Estrofest. Buh bye!!!

Tuesday

Hello readers. I keep forgetting how hard blogs are to keep up with. Especially when facebook occupies most of your computer time. Especially times two when you only get 30 minutes of computer time on the weekdays because your grades suck. Actually right now I'm in the class where my grade is the worst. Yeah science really isn't my thing. Right now we're supposed to be typing up our lab write ups but I already finished mine. It just had to be printed. There is soooooo much going on in the coming weeks! In fact this weekend I'm going with the girls in my youth group on a camping trip to Baker Lake for Estrofest. It's going to be awesome! I love camping but evidently some of the girls really aren't campers but they're going to hang out with the res tof us that are so I was thinking of buying some of those plastic bugs to stick in sleeping bags. Mwahahahaha! This shall be fun. Also, coming up in a week from today is the Everett Youth Symphony concert. I'm excited but also sad because this concert marks the end of symphony season. We won't be having anymore rehearsals until after the summer when I have to come back and audition again with everybody else. Maybe when I reaudition I'll get put in the Junior Symphony. That would be nice. There's also a school concert coming up on the 27th of May. We're playing with Discovery Elementary and Voyager middle so we have to play this really easy fiddle tune that I've had memorized since 7th grade. It was easy then too. What I really can't wait for is coming up on the 31st of this month. Relient K will be here!!!! I've had my tickets since the day they went on sale so 2 monthes or something. I talked to my friend Lisa from church about this and she said she might be going so it'll be amazing! And next month is Shasta where our youth group goes up to lake Shasta in northern Cali and stays on house boats and it's a huge competition. I'm so psyched!! Wow my Spanish teacher just walked into the lab. That was so random. Well besides that there isn't a whole lot going on. Oh but I did cut off my long locks. Now my hair is just a bit above the shoulders. It's awesome looking. Well this weekend it seems I'll be goign to Catherine's house so we can bring out the violins. If I do end up going to my dad's this weekend (I'm not sure because my dad will be in Canada this weekend) then I'll pack my overnight bag on Thursday with almost everything I need for Estrofest (some of the stuff is at my dad's) and then ride with Catherine to her house and eat dinner there. Sabrina can take my bag when my stepmom comes to pick her up and Catherine's dad will probably drop me off back at Dad's. I only wish that my cousin's family birthday party wasn't scheduled for the same day as Estrofest. See we get there Saturday (we leave at 9AM) and we don't get back till 4PM on Sunday but Dylan's party is at 1PM on Sunday but I already RSVPed to the invited on facebook so I can't be like "Oh by the way I'm not going" well I could but not gracefully. Well I probably need to wrap this superlong entry up that way the bell doesn't ring on me while I'm still typing. I'll try to be better at keeping up with this but no promises. I'll write for sure after Estrofest.

Everything

Ok so lately I haven't been faithful about writing at least once a week so I'm sorry. But I'm wirting now. Not much has happened really. Let me see. Yesterday I went driving except I went driving with 3 other kids I don't know and we were in a parking lot, driving the skid monster. They had cones set up to drive around and the car would skid so you could correct it. It was fun! Especially at the end when the instructor let each of us to a donut in the middle of the parking lot. That was awesome! Other than that not a whole lot's been going on. I'm just avoiding Sabrina because I really don't want to catch whatever it is she has. Good thing she's upstairs sleeping and I'm downstairs on the computer. Oh today on facebook I talked to Andrew. He's one of my good friends from middle school. I remember one time my friend Caroline went over to Jordan (his twin) and Andrew's house and they tried to teach us to play this game called tripoly. Well it's like a casino game so instead of money we made bets with M&Ms. Except Caroline and I kept eating out M&Ms so Andrew threw an M&M at me. Before you knew it we were having an M&M fight. That was fun. I miss stuff like that. I told Andrew that the next time he palys that game using M&Ms isn't a good idea. He asked me if he should use skittles so now I'm craving skittles. Not nice Andrew!

There's not enough time in the day anymore

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything new for more than a week. Really nothing interesting has happened. We had WASLs this week but I'm a freshman and the state is too poor to pay for test booklets for freshman. Well I finally used my powers of convincing to get ymself a facebook. So look me up! Mom was going to make me wait till I turned 16 to get a facebook but she caved 5 monthes early. I've only had it for about 3 days and yet I already have more than 35 friends. I am so glad it's Friday. Too bad Friday isn't going by fast enough. It's only second period! I'm supposed to be looking up stuff about the 1849 goldrush. I already finished so I decided that while I have time I'd at least blog about SOMETHING. Speaking of blogs it seems this one has a new reader. I'm not sure who because it won't show up but whoever you are mystery reader I greatly appreciate the patronage. Well the period will be over in about 7 minutes and I need to go find something else that will occupy my next 5-6 minutes or so. Something pointless no doubt. Stupid webwasher won't let me on facebook.

Shopping with Grandma and Pat

Today is day 4 (I start counting from the Saturday we get out) of spring break and it was really fun. My grandma came down from Kent and took my sister and me shopping. She also brought down her friend Pat. First we went to the christian book store and i got a cool looking book and this cool wrist band thingy thats black and red striped and says pick Jesus with a guitar pick which is pretty cool. Then we went to Everett mall. We ate lunc at A&W (or at least Sabrina and I did because Grandma and Pat ate at Ivar's) and then went to stores We started off in Zumiez and then went to hot topic and about half the other stores. I ended up getting a cute headband with a black bow on it from Claires and I got a cue peasent skirt from Macy's that starts off light blue and gets darker as it goes down. I'll probably wear it for Easter. After that we had ice cream at Baskin Robins because by that time it was starting to get warm. It's a good thing that at least half our break is warm. I think tomorrow's supposed to be kinda rainy. Oh well at least we got a little warm weather. Back to the rainy season. Maybe I'll call Catherine and we can hang out one day this week or something

Poem by Erma J. Sybil (a.k.a. my grandma)

Hello readers. Thought you'd enjoy this poem by my grandma on my dad's side. This is where I get those poetry genes! Please do not steal the poem because that's not nice. I know none of my regular readers would be if you just happened to stumble across my lovely blog here just floating around in cyberspace, just remember it's copyrighted and stealing is wrong! Have a good spring break. Peace, paz, paix, frieden, pace, vrede, мир, fred, and 和平! Hope I didn't leave out any major languages there.

God Heard!

I stood in the crowd that day,
To hear what Pilate had to say.
"What shall I do with Jesus,
Who is called the Christ?" he asked.
"LET HIM GO," I cried! But no one heard!

A shout, "Crucify Him!"
Oh, how my heart sank low.
As the crowd took up the yell,
Their shouts and jeers thundered in my ears.
And I called out, "NO, DON'T!But no one heard!

Near Golgotha, on a cold hill I stood.
As nails plunged through flesh and wood.
My heart pounded with each hammer beat.
"STOP!" I screamed,"DON'T CRUCIFY MY LORD!"
But the pounding continued--For one one heard!

Shivering, I stayed on the hill and cried.
In the sixth hour, darkness like death overcame me.
Then I heard my Lord's voice echo through the night,
"Father, it is finished. Into your hands I commmit my Spirit."
And I yelled, "WHY HAD HE DIED?" But no one heard!

I awoke in anguish, to a dreary, sunless day.
With weeping heart, I wandered aimlessly away.
I could not eat, or sleep, or even pray,
For what good was life anyway. I cried--
"MY LORD DIED YESTERDAY!" But no one heard!

Sunday morning on the way to the tomb,
I picked a bouquet of poppies, which were in bloom.
The deep-red scarlet reminded me of Jesus' blood,
The white of his purity, the brilliant pink of His love.
I whispered, "I PICKED THESE FOR MY LORD." But no one heard!

Gathering my bouquet, I ran to the tomb.
"Empty!" I wailed. Grief and loneliness overcame me.
Slow of step and hanging head, I turned back to Galilee.
With quivering lips and bated breath, I repeated--
"WHERE HAVE THEY TAKEN MY LORD?" But no one heard!

There's Mary, talking and laughing.
Why isn't she weeping? Wasn't she there when Jesus died?
Doesn't she know our Lord was crucified?
Then I heard someone say, Jesus arose this morning,
Just as the Scriptures said. "YES, YES!" I said, I heard!

Running home with tears of joy streaming down my face,
I began to sing, to praise God and pray.
I thanked Him for eternal life,
For Jesus dying in my place.
And I thanked God because --HE HAD HEARD!

No more pretending to be a messenger pigeon!!!

Hello loyal readers. It seems I have been Justin's wingman for more than long enough. I've been talking to Sierra and dropping hints and taking messages to her from him. Honestly I was really tired of being in the middle of this. Apparently Sierra was too so we came up with a plan. I got Justin's phone number from him and gave it to Sierra. Plus I told him I was really getting tired of it. So now I'm officially out. This messenger pigeon is retiring. In other news I'll be at my dad's house this weekend. That should be fun I guess. On Sunday, after church, we're doing some family pictures with my mom, Sabrina, Linea (my aunt), and Anastasia (my 3 year old cousin). The common theme here is denim and white shirts. Last time it was jewel tones but that one didn't really work out considering my mom and my aunt got into an argument in the middle of Target. I'm optimistic for this one. Believe it or not I actually like watching Anastasia. She's so funny! Also apparently during spring break I'll be at my dad's house for the whole week. Not just stay there for the day and come home again like we did for thanksgiving and christmas break. No we'll be there day and night for the whole week. Well it's a good thing I'll have my violin because I'll be doing a lot of practicing. Good thing I've got a lot new music to work on too. Oh yeah plus there's driving. Oh and a book that I've been meaning to finish. I'll keep myself busy one way or another. Well I smell that Papa Murphy's pizza and it smells yummy so I shall go now. Peace out!

Sorry couldn't bite my tongue

Happy Monday. Not really. Today started off fairly normal but got progressively worse. First I had to jog for 20 minutes in PE and the whole time Griffin was making me want to strangle him by telling me that I wasn't running fast enough all the while he said nothing to the goth kids who were pretty much walking the whole time. The worst thing happened at lunch. Some little blonde munchkin freshman boy started making fun of my friend Catherine and being just a jerk. So this kid apparently knows Catherine who's one of my best friends (don't worry I've got multiple). He sits down at our lunch table and first he's just being stupid by pretending to hit on her. We just kinda rolled our eyes at that. Then when he didn't get the response he wanted he started really being a nimrod. It just so happens that Catherine's favorite animal is a horse (just like you Pepper!). He knew that and started talking to his buddies at the table about how horses are made into dog food. Then he started talking about dead horses on the side of the road. So of course I had to stand up for her so right as I was leaving the cafeteria to go to my locker I told the little blonde munchkin boy to go to hell. I know I really shouldn't have said that but seriously this kid was making me mad. I just couldn't help myself. Besides if we did absolutely nothing he would still keep doing or maybe even try to start it with me and I wouldn't take it. I probably have this innocent look but I just don't take crap from anybody anymore. The day didn't get much worse than that. Although I'm still not even close to being done with the day yet. I still have to go to my driver's ed class because even though the classroom stuff is done I still ahve to go out for a few drives. One of them being today. Right after that my dad will pick me up and take me to Kamiak for EYSO rehearsal. I won;t even get dinner till like 8 or somehting. That's why I had a kiwi and some strawberries a little bit ago. I love trader joe's. We get yummy stuff from there. In other news we got new music in orchestra. We sight read today. The pieces that we got were Legend, Mantras, and Nimrod all of which were pretty fun although Legend and mantras were pretty hard but we can get them. Eventually. It seems that there's a lot more pizzicato in our new pieces. also NOTE TO SELF: GET A MUTE. Sorry. I'll never remember otherwise. I need it for one of the sea chantey variations for the symphony. Well I need to be leaving here in about 15 minutes for my drive and I still need to find out how to squeeze my stand into the top of my case. Buh bye!

65 days

Ok so earlier I went out driving again on the freeway. I actually did really well so I'm getting better. In other news: MY MOM GOT ME THE RELIENT K TICKETS!!!! I am so happy and I'm just counting down till the concert. As of today its 65 days so I totally can't wait. I'm so psyched! I've been wanting to see this band since I heard them in 7th grade. I absolutely love them. I remember how I got hooked too. When I was still in Virginia my youth group went to equip (Speaking of which how did equip go for you Pepper?) and I was in a van with let me see I don't remember everyone but I do remember that Harmony and Jonathan Cox were there oh yeah and Nicholas Maxwell. We had such a good time on that van all the way up there. Plus we were listening and singing along to Relient K's Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek album and we kept playing Sadie Hawkins Dance and singing to it over and over. Wow that was such a long time ago. My dream is finally going to come true of seeing them in concert. I wish I could actually meet them in person but the chance of that happening is worse than winning the lottery but I'll still be singing along to every song! They better play Sadie Hawkins Dance but I think they play that one at every concert since it was the one that made them famous. I am going to be obsessing about this concert for awhile. In other news my mom brought home a really good steak for dinner and a box of See's candy. After we divided it up we up we had like 9 pieces left. They were so yummy! I just love chocolate. Well I'll just post this and I'll post more later!

Relient K!!!!!

Big news! I found out this morning that my favorite band EVER (for 3 years) is FINALLY touring the west coast and coming to Seattle!!!! They're coming to Neumo's at the end of May. I absolutely must go!

For Sierra

Sierra this post is for you. I can't tell you this because I promised Justin I wouldn't TELL you. He never said anything about blogging about it and giving you the blog address. I don't like Justin anymore because today in orchestra class he pretty much told me the only reason he talks to me is because he likes you. Seriously I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at him. If you like him you can have him because I'm done. I'll still be his friend but I'm really not interested anymore. In fact right now I'm really pissed off at him. He was the one who wanted me to ask you if you're single. He also wanted me to drop hints. This is probably more than a hint so don't tell him you read it. Just letting you know.

Cloud 7

Heyllo readers. I'm on cloud 7 today. Not cloud 9 because cloud 9 is the best of the best but cloud 7 is getting there. So today I didn't get to talk to Justin in the morning but he did hug me today. I think he also followed me outside. He gave me a hug and talked to me before the bell rang for 5th period. Usually we part ways before the door to get outside because my math class is in a portable and he knows this because I've told him. He snuck up behind me and tapped me and went the other way so I wouldn't see him when I turned around. He asked me why I was there and I told him that my class was out there. I'm pretty sure he followed me out there. He's adorable! Sorry. Had to say that. Because it's true. Anyway the rest of the day was pretty good. My dad took me out driving and I did ok. Not bad. Not very good either but not bad. I also had rehearsal today. We got a piece by Handel called Hornpipe. Very famous. Very hard. Very fun. Well my mom is really getting on my nerves and she's yelling at me to get off so I well let her majesty on. See ya!

Getting over the flu

Once again I know its been awhile since I've written. This time my excuse is getting over the flu. I caught the flu on tuesday of last week and I'm finally getting better. I never got to go to the SKMEA festival or Bellingham otherwise I'd be telling you about those. Poor Catherine I think she caught it too. She caught it Friday night. She hasn't been back to school yet. She was at rehearsal on Monday night but she was only watching since we got new music. Speaking of which we're playing variations of a sea chantey and the chantey is What do we do with our drunken sailor? That's a good one. Plus we've got something else but I don't remember it's title or composer. All week everybody has been doing WASLs except freshman because the state cut money from education which is really a dumb idea. Anyway I went to school at my regular time on Monday. For the first half of school we listened to a lecture about college, signed up for classes next year, and watched a movie. For the second half we had block classes which meant PE, English, and math for me. On tuesday I went in around 10:00AM instead of on time that way I could sleep in and try to recover instead of going in early and doing nothing. Yesterday I didn't go in at all because I've had this cough leftover from the flu and I couldn't really sleep because of it so my mom took me to the doctor. I ended up getting some stuff that just knocks me out. It's amazing. I also got 2 other kinds that taste horrible. I feel like I've missed so much school. Actually I guess I have because last week when I had the worst of the flu I missed Wednesday through Friday. I've had a really long vacation. Today was the last day I was able to go into school half way through the day because tomorrow we're going back to regular schedule. Darn! Hopefully that means going back to being able to see Justin everyday and talk to him in the morning. In other news Sabrina is in trouble... again. Apparently one of her friends made her a myspace and we aren't allowed to have one. She didn't delete it. Instead she decorated it and started using it. She said that she's 18 and used her real name and city and stuff like that. Plus she said she's bi which isn't true because she hasn't ever had a girlfriend. She hasn't even had a boyfriend except the 8th grade one that ignores her when he's with his friends and denies it when anybody asks him wether they're going out. Stupid huh? Well I think I shall go now. See ya!

EYSO concert and today

Ok so last night was the Everett Youth Symphony concert. I think it went really well. At least for not having rehearsal on Monday. I had so many supporters there. I had my grandma and grandpa, mom, dad, Kyle, Sabrina, Heidi (my small group leader), and my aunt. Our songs went off without a hitch and we got a lot of applause. My mom wasn't really impressed with the Junior symphony's performance. Apparently nobody was together. Of course their conductor is the Kamiak orchestra director. Go figure. He's really flamboyant. I got flowers from Heidi and they're very pretty. I was sick pretty much all day yesterday at school. I'm sleepy, achey, and my throat hurts, and I'm coughing like crazy. It's not fun. I went to school yesterday but I probably shouldn't have. I'm home today and I'm miserable. I took nyquil last night and dayquil today but I'm still miserable. Last night though SOMEBODY *cough cough* Catherine *cough cough* wouldn't let me sleep after the concert. She kept trying to take my hat and my headphones. Well I'll wrap this up so I can go drink some fluids and take some Tylenol. By the way, the picture is of Mrs. Harris, the conductor of the intermezzo group which is what I'm in.

Blah!

I'm sorry it's been awhile since I've written but I promise that next month won't have as much going on. OK so I'll start with my first freeway drive on Friday. It actually went really well... until I accidentally cut of a semi truck. Needless to say he wasn't happy with me. Also on Friday, there was the Spaghetti Dinner for ASB booster club for orchestra and band and jazz band so that was ok I guess. See Angelos had been gone for 3 days because our Boys' basketball team made it to state so they were up in Tacoma as well as marching band so Angelos wasn't here for orchestra. Also needless to say, we sucked. We totally butchered like 5 measures in Rhosymedre and it sounded awful. Good thing it wasn't our fault. The food was good though. On Saturday we all we (my whole family) webt up to my Grandma and Grandpa's house and had a big celebratory lunch thing to welcome back my Grandma and Grandpa from their travels in New Mexico and Arizona and it also included a celebration of all the March birthdays which included my mom, my dad, my stepmom, and my uncle. If my aunt's birthday was also in March we'd have a whole generation of March birthdays there. That was fun. My mom and I also went out and got my shirt and heels I needed for the concert tomorrow. The shoe guy was very helpful. I think when my mom mentioned that I'm a musician and I'm playing in a couple concerts coming up[ he must've thought I was someone important. Especially because the Everett Youth Symphony has a good reputation. That and we're broadcasted all over the internet on the day of the concert. Too bad I'm not a first violin. At least not in the symphony. Anyway, I have such a busy schedule! Like today I was supposed to go to rehearsal for the symphony. That didn't work out but I'm getting to it. Hold your horses (who made that phrase up anyway?). Tomorrow is the symphony concert plus I've got driver's ed. Tomorrow I've got an ice cream social (again I'll get to that in a minute) plus driver's ed. Thursday I have (you guessed it!) driver's ed plus the SKMEA festival. Friday I'm heading up to Bellingham for a different festival and there's also a master class up there. I'll still be there Saturday and that's the day of the performance. Just too much to do! OK so today was kinda weird. First it started snowing around second period and we've got a good 4 inches out there. That's why rehearsal for tonight was cancelled. Also I now know for sure that my gym teacher is out to get me. So we start a 20 minute jog (usually on Mondays we run a mile but the track was wet so we run 20 minutes inside) so I'm jogging and like 12 minutes in I need water. I go get some from a nearby fountain and then I keep going. I'm coming up to where Griffin is and he starts yelling at me and saying that if I slow down or stop for the rest of the 8 minutes left he'd take my credit. At this point I'm kinda annoyed but whatever. I keep running. But then I think I did something to my ankle. Maybe I twisted it or pulled a muscle. I'm fine now but it really hurt right then. I'm still going though I'm just kinda limping along. Then Griffin starts yelling at me again! He says that I didn't fall so I'm not hurt and I need to stop faking the limp. You're kidding right? I really wanted to physically injure that man. Badly. As it is I was cursing him to hell for the rest of the time. I swear he's out to get me. Anyway the next weird thing happened just the next period. So I'm in science class and we're doing a notebook check. I pull out all my things which are pretty much everywhere since God knows I can't organize to save my life. He gets to me and I start showing him all this stuff and he asks to actually see the inside of my notebook. I show him and it's like a tornado of papers. He says "You're not good at organizing are you? That's ok. You're an artist. I get that. You like the chaos. You're lucky I like you." He gave me a 15 out of 20. I thought that was pretty cool. He gives me passing grades because he likes me. Isn't that awesome? Weird event number 4 happened in last period Spanish class. I got a note that apparently I won an award for being student of the quarter. So now I'm getting a certificate and I get to go to an ice cream social on Wednesday. Besides my evil gym teacher thing the day was pretty good. Well that and rehearsal getting cancelled. At least we're still having the concert tomorrow. I'm almost sure that my science teacher was the one who nominated me for that award. I'm not sure why he lies me. I mean by that time I'm so tired from gym I usually fall asleep in the class. Not on purpose of course. I think he likes me because I can write a good research paper. See we did these 5 page research papers and mine was on how climate change affects frogs. Apparently he really liked it and he told me so. So I've got minimum corrections and I just have to print another one out and hand it in and get my 100. Go me! Anyway wish me luck for the concert. Also if you're interested in watching the concert the livestream starts at 6:45PM west coast time on March 10th, 2009. Just click the following link and click the button that says: EYSO webcast click here to watch live. Ok here's the link: http://www.eyso.info/article.aspx?id=45

So embarassing!

Ok so you know Josh whom I've mentioned a couple... hundred times? Um... yeah his name isn't really Josh. I just found out his today his real name is Justin. At least I didn't call him Josh to find out that wasn't his name. Today we had a sub for orchestra and he was taking roll and called Justin and of course he raised his hand. I am sooooo embarassed. I've bene talking to him for like a month. The reason why I thought his name was Josh was because there used to be a girl I was friends with in orchestra named Shelbie called him that. At least I didn't call him that to his face. But now I have to tell all my friends that I told about him that I got his name messed up. That will be so embarassing. It has been such an incredibly long day.

Driving more and the weird day

Ok so I went on my second and third driving experiences. I actually managed not not almost run into anything! Does that makes sense? Anyway so my dad took me out on some back roads and I did pretty well. Tonight I went out on a hands on driving lesson with my instructor and a girl named Jessica from my class. She's super nice. Anyway so on the third one we actually went through traffic lights! I didn't do too bad. I also had a kinda strange day. All was normal at school but after drivers ed I went and at dinner at Mickey D's (aka mcdonalds) because it was walking distance of the drivers ed school and i only had an hour before I needed to be back for the actual drive. So I'm on my way back to the school with my belly full of greasy food and some dude pulls up to the intersection and he's got his buddy in the passenger seat. So they're like 3 lanes away from me and the passenger seat dude calls me over. He gives me this intricately folded paper flower made from a chinese food menu and tells me I'm cute. Now this guy's older. Not long old man old where it's just really really creepy but he's at least a senior in high school and I'm a freshman. He wouldn't be doing that if he knew I was a freshman. So I'm just like "um... thanks?" because there's not a whole lot I can say. Then I just kinda walked away back to the sidewalk. It was a little weird. I'm not going to lie to you I wasn't exactly prepared for that. Anyway yeah it was just kinda strange today. Oh and my mom and I were in the almost empty parking lot at Target tonight, waiting for my sister's flute lesson to be over and my mom hasn't driven with me yet so I just wanted to driver her around the parking lot a little. I get in the car and follow all the prodedures and everything. I pull into a parking space for her and then I start backing out and my mom just totally flips out. She's just like "STOP!!!" She might have some problems with me driving. There weren't even any parked cars nearby. Oh boy.

*sigh*

sorry it's been nearly a week since I last posted anything but it's been a long week with way too much homework. Have you ever had one of those weeks where you have 3 projects due on Friday? That's just the story of my life. I had a project due in English about the Odyssey. I also had something due in Spanish and a 5 page research paper for Science. Almost everything got turned in on time except the research paper. See I typed it up and saved it and the exited the page so I could go e-mail it to myself so I could print it out at school. It wasn't there. We looked through the whole computer and it was totally gone. So then I had to go ask Campbell for an extension. Fortunately he gave it to me but that means I've gotta type up my paper tomorrow. All 5 pages. Also if you live in the Seattle area the roads are no longer safe... because I've got my permit!!! I actually took a decent picture too. I went on mky first drive yesterday. In just 20 minutes I managed to almost run into a mailbox, a ditch, and a parked car. I didn't but it was still scary and that was a low traffic back road. I wonder what will happen when I go onto a real road with a lot of traffic. That will be scary. Ok well I shall go so I can sleep or something. Key word: or something. Have a good week and pray for me so I don't like kill myself or something while I'm driving. Haha just kidding!

The weekend

Hi there. My weekend was fairly unevenful. My dad and stepmom were going to some sort of couples night at church. We got to stay home and rent movies. We got Swing Vote and The City of Ember. The City of Ember was better. Then Saturday my dad rented Starwars episode IV and The Terminator. I really liked the Terminator. Except the part where the terminator cut his own eye out. That was gross. Today we went to church and I got a chocolate chip muffin. It was tasty. that's all the news I have. I'm actually happy to go back to school tomorrow. I can't wait to see Josh. *sigh* Well that's all my news so I shall just find a relevant picture to go with this. Somehow. Bye!

Valentines and everything else

Sorry I haven't posted anything new in a few days. Surpringly being on break actually gives you the illusion that you're busier than if you were at school. Anyway I'll start with valentines day. The day itself was pretty boring. My mom and I ran errands like getting the car checked and stuff. I was supposed to be at my dad's for the weekend but he and my stepmom were out of town in warm California because my dad had some inspections for a couple ships out there and since it was Valentine's weekend he took Kyle with him so I was at my mom's this weekend. I also got my report card in the mail. I got 3 As, 2Bs, and a C- which isn't too bad but still my parents were just like work on the C- in science. Yeah too bad it's second period science which is hard enough to stay awake in but I have it right after Team Sports where we have to jog for 10 minutes non stop or on Mondays we run the mile or if the track is slick we jog for 20 minutes which believe it or not is a good way to put you to sleep next period. Not to mention Campbell pretty much speaks in monotone which is actually sleep inducing. All in all an impossible task. The only somewhat exciting thing that happened on cupid day is that my mom's boyfriend who we've never met before came over. He was nice I liked him (to my mom if you're reading I told you I wouldn't say anything mean on my blogs anymore well except about teachers) and he came bringing gifts of pizza, soda, and chocolate. Even for my sister and I. He's a keeper. No but he was really nice and his parents have a cat called a serval which pretty much looks like a bobcat or a leopard or something. I definitely want to meet that kitty! It's big too. They have to have a permit to keep it or something. So it's like a house broken carnivore kitty. Hmmmm. Anyway Sunday was boring. We stayed home and did nothing. Yesterday was president's day and the start of our midwinter break. Too bad this is our last midwinter break. Anyway yesterday we (my mom, my sister, and I) all had optometrist appointments. I got my eyes dialated and it felt like I was looking through a fishbowl for most of the day. It's a good thing they gave me a sample pair because I'm going in to the DOL on wednesday with my dad and I'm getting my permit and it would be a bad thing if I didn't get it because I didn't pass the vision test. We got a bunch of grocery items afterwards for Sabrina and I to eat for lunch and breakfast while we're on break this week. Well it's a little past 9AM right now so it seems as if I might be in need of a little breakfast. Oh! Another thing I found out from my friend Hazel is that my strings teacher that I had last year back on the east coast is getting married. It seems like everybodys getting married now. My leader of my small group is getting married too but her wedding's not until October. Ok well I must go track down the cereal. Good bye my two readers. By the way the picture in the top? that's a serval.

Conversations with Josh

So today I had a really good day. Today when I talked to Josh we talked about some pretty personal stuff. I won't mention all of it because like I said it's personal. I'll just say that it's a pretty important thing to talk about. Especially if you are planning to date the person who you're talking to. So there is still hope. I will tell you that he told me his 4 expectations for any girl he dates. I'll also tell you that I easily meet all 4. I won't talk about the first one because that was the personal topic but #2 is that any girl he dates must be a Christian. Check. #3 is that she can't smoke or drink. Check. and #4 is that she can't do drugs. Check! I think it might be possible that Josh was telling this because he likes me. Hopefully. He didn't give the valentine to Kelsie. He told me he couldn't get one because he was sick so he couldn't leave the house. I don't think so. He could've left his house or he could've made one if he really wanted to give her one. Also he told me he thinks valentines day is a cliche holiday anyway so if he thinks that why would he buy one anyway? So I'm really hoping he likes me. You know what I realized. Today is Friday the 13th. There's a Friday the 13th next month too. That would bother me if I were superstitious. I think it's all in the head. I just realized something else! If I believed in luck I'd have really bad luck because I saw a black cat today and it did cross my path. I've had the best unlucky day ever I guess! Oxymoron!

Not Friday

Ello. Today wan't too interesting but I was talking to Josh today (he was out wednesday because he was sick and he went home early today because he still is) and I had told my friend Sierra from my PE on wednesday that the reason why I didn't talk to him that morning was because he was sick so today Josh and I were chatting and she walked up to us (Josh didn't know her at this point) and said "Are you feeling better?" and he's just like "Not really. Who are you?" It was so funny! I introduced them and Josh says she's nice. Anyway after the bell rang I caught up with Sierra in the locker room so I just pretty much told her how cute I think he is. She says we'd be a good couple. Too bad he likes Kelsie. But I'm not bitter about that anymore. Except maybe a little. But for the most part I'm over it. Especially since Kelsie has never even spoke to him or given him the time of day. So there's still hope! Anyway so Josh's class was playing dodgeball at that time so after our 5 minute jog we got to choose between weight training, volley ball, basketball, or playing dodgeball with the weight training class. Yeah I chose dodgeball even though we were on different teams the whole time. Yeah I'm obsessed. Not stalker obsessed but yeah still obsessed. I refuse to give up hope! Well tomorrow's Friday and we're running on not only a half day schedule but also an assembly schedule AND a fire drill schedule so classes will be super short. And we're off all next week for midwinter break so that'll be nice. Oh and I found out that sometime next month for orchestra we're going on an overnight trip to Bellingham for a festival I assume. I think we were supposed to pick roommates for the hotel rooms today but we had a B flat scale test instead. Not nearly as fun. Oh well I already know that I want to room with Catherine and Katreen. We're the 3 freshman first violinists. The freshman seconds think we're snobby just because we're in higher chairs than them. Oh well that's their problem. The other first violin girls (Esther and Heather- both Juniors) aren't going to want to room with us. Maybe we can get Katy to room with us but she might want to room with all the other viola girls. I don't know. No more news.

Valentines shmalentines

yeah I'm officially a pessimist when it comes to Valentines day. It's all commercial. Especailly since you know that guy I think is cute and talks to me in the mornings? Yeah well this morning he told me that he thinks a girl in our orchestra class is cute and he's thinking of giving her a valentine. Yeah it was like a slap in the face but I'll get over it. Eventually. Until then I'll be emo for awhile and everybody will avoid me including (hopefully) loverboy. Although that doesn't seem to be happening. He doesn't seem to think that anything's wrong. Why just after lunch he walked up to me with a pack of red vines and told me he wanted to bit an end off a bunch and put mustard in them and offer them to his friends. I admit that would be funny. But I'm too mad at him right now to care. Oh well tomorrow he might not even be at school because he told me he was getting sick and he going to try to stay home. That's fine with me. I don't care. I honestly don't anymore. No other news.

Game outcomes and the rest of it

I'm here...again. Anyway the pep assembly wasn't too bad. I sat with Katreen which made it more bearable so that was good. Mariner won the game (of course) so yay! iIt was a pretty good game but we were up the whole time so it wasn't exactly a close game. We won 82-53. My weekend was ok. I went to Everett mall and spent my gift card that I have for there. I bought a book, jellybeans, and a mini ipod sound dock to keep at my dad's house so I can play it aloud over there because I like to sleep with my ipod playing on the weekends. Well today's Monday. I hate Mondays. Especially since Monday is now known as mile Monday. Oh joy! USUALLY we go out to the track and run the mile but guess what? there was snow on the ground this morning! which mean it was slick which meant running outside was out meaning we got to run inside for 20 minutes. Ug! Even I can run a mile in less than 20 minutes. Plus if we're running the mile they can't tell us we have to jog the whole time with no walking. But that's what we did today. My legs felt like they were ran over through 3rd period. And in second period Campbell put on a video and turned off the lights. What do you think I did? yep I fell asleep but can you really blame me? anyway back to the story at hand. After we were done and we did our stretches they told us we could either walk around or play basketball but we had to keep moving. How stupid is that? "Yes you just got done running for 20 minutes straight but no of course you can't sit down! How stupid are you?" My God! anyway so I walked and talked with a girl in my class named Larissa (we rhyme). So we stopped for like 10 seconds and leaned against a wall and then Griffin got in our faces and told us to keep walking. So we did which wasn't that bad but its just like who tied your panties in a bunch? you know. So anyway when class was over Griffin called both of us over and we don't have unlimited time to get dressed or anything. We have like 2 minutes and we was cutting into that time. So when we got there Griffin went off on us telling us that he's not a babysitter and it's just like ohmigod we rested 10 seconds after we'd been running 20 frickin minutes you can cut us some slack here. But I'm almost sure he gave us a zero for today which is retarded. Anyway I honestly hate Griffin. But whatever. In other news I had my third rehearsal for the symphony today. It went pretty well. I'm really getting the music down and I've only been looking at it for 3 weeks and I've got it down better than half the other people in the group. I really wish I was a first violin like I am in class. Maybe next concert. Or next year. Next week we're not having rehearsal because it's the start of midwinterbreak. Haha none of you east coast people get that. See Pepper that's one point for the West coast! More breaks. Anyway it might snow tonight. I hate snow. I don't want it to snow. Besides it it snows I don't get to talk to my buddy in the morning=D. I like talking to him. He's cute haha. He will never see this blog. Let's just hope I don't let it slip on accident while talking to him. I can always edit it later if I do accidently let it slip. Well I must go do my Spanish homework. Which I hate. Peace!

Waiting

Hey sorry I haven't had time to blog in awhile. I've just been so busy of late. Right now I'm just sitting here in geometry typing this and it's kinda strange because if the person behind me turned around they could easily see what I'm typing. Anyway it's Friday so TGIF. The weekend can't come fast enough or last long enough for me. I can't wait to sleep in haha that's how tired I am right now. In other news tonight is stinky shoe which is the Mariner vs. Kamiak basketball game (Kamiak's going down or at least I hope so) but I haven't decide if I'm going or not. I live right across the street from school so I can just walk over there if I decide to go plus I'm ASB so I get in for free as long as I bring my ASB card for proof which is easy because it's in my pocket right now. Well it's not like any of my friends are going so maybe I'll just stay home. I don't know. There's also a pep assembly after 6th period today which is next since right now is 5th period (yep 6 comes after 5 aren't I smart? I can count! haha). I don't particularly care but it's not like I have a choice besides it means shorter classes for today so why not? I was just think about how many Kamiak friends I have lol I happen to have a lot. Weird. Although most of them go to my church like Stephanie and Felipe. If you can't tell I'm getting kinda random right now because I'm tired. Oh my schedule changed a little. I used to have first period health but now it's second semester and I have PE which would be ok except I hate running. Stretches and team sports are ok but I really hate running. Whatever I guess I'll just suck it up since I don't have a choice. In other news I have a huge research paper to write. 5 pages of nothing but stuff about the effects of climate change on animals. Well at least I got to narrow down my topic myself. That's why I picked animals. Also for the past two mornings I seem to have aquired a new ritual. Maybe. I don't know. Anyway so since I don't really want to show up to PE early I sit on some benches near the bandroom and for the past two days in the mornings I see one of the guys from my orchestra class. We have interesting conversations about weird muscle groups and what we were like in 8th grade and just what we were like in middle school in general. Well that's all the news my sleepy brain can think of so I'm going to log off the computer and just sleep until the bell or something and then get to Spanish. More later.

This week

Well this week is spirit week at school. Monday was black out day. That was fun. Today was sports day but I couldnt find my VT hoodie but I did find my huskies hoodie. Tomorrow's blast from the past day. What am I supposed to wear for that?!?! Thursday is class colors day. Since I'm a freshman our color is orange and I don't own anything orange. Friday is blue and gold day. That much I can do. Anyway in other news I had rehearsal yesterday for the symphony. It went well at least I think so. And yesterday was the beginning of the semester so one of the guys decided he wanted to drop out of orchestra. Since that particular guy was Colton and Colton really gets on my nerves I was happy that he left. Plus that meant I went up to 5th chair at least until tomorrow when we have a chair test. For now I'm sitting with my friend Catherine who's also in the symphony with me. I thought that would be fun. It's not. I mean I love her but shes distracting me. She keeps poking me with her bow plus she's used to sitting with our friend Katreen who doesn't have very good posture so she's used to having a project but I'm a chair above her (at least in class at the symphony she's a first violin and I'm a second because I came in in the middle of the year so that's where they had room for me) so my posture isn't perfect I know but it's pretty good because my private teacher that I had when I first began the instrument nailed it into my head. So now Catherine wants another project since it's a little harder for her to poke Katreen in the back. So now Catherine keeps swinging my scroll and my arm way out to the side where I can't see Angelos or Esther (the concert mistress) plus since my arm is swung out where it isn't supposed to be my sound is suffering too. And I can barely see my music so it's just not good. She's one of my best friends (I say one because I have many) so I know her intentions are good but the outcome? Not so much. Well when we have the chair test maybe I'll get Kenny as a stand partner instead and she can go back to working with Katreen.

Superbowl

Hi there. My sister's been gone ALL weekend and it's been so quiet. Also the superbowl is today. I REALLY want the Cardinals to kick the steelers's butts. There's a few reasons for this.

1. The Cardinals have never been to the superbowl so it would be awesome if they win

2. The Cardinals are in the same division as the Seahawks

3. The Cardinals may be our division rivals but they're way better than the Steelers

4. The Steelers suck

5. When the Seahawks went to the superbowl the Steelers OBVIOUSLY cheated by paying off the refs because the refs made REALLY bad calls during that whole game and if it weren't for that the Seahawks would've beat the Steelers and word is that the refs of that game were all chewed out by the NFL after the game

6. The Steelers REALLY suck (yes its a repeat but its the truth and deserves 2 mentions on the list)

I'm also looking forward to the commercials this year. Some of them are awesome while some of them are really stupid (usually the burger kind ads are the stupid ones). So right now I'm sitting here with my dad and Kyle (my stepmom) and we're waiting for one of their friends from their small group to show up here in a few. And we're snacking on M&Ms (blue and red for me). Yummy. I'm kinda sleepy right now. It's so warm in here but I can't sleep because then I run the risk of missing any amount of time of the game/ commericals. Hmmmm you know what? I told my small group leader that I'd post a pic of an almond blossom on my blog so that's what that picture is. It had something to do with the bulbs on the lamp in the tabernacle. Don't ask we're reading Hebrews right now. Hebrews 9 to be exact. Anyway tomorrows Monday meaning 2nd symphony practice. Yay! You know what I can't wait for? Midwinter break. It starts on the 16th of this month. Well technically the 17th but we'll be out on the 16th anyway because of president's day. Tomorrow's groundhog day isn't it? If only we got out of school for that. Well I'll post the pic now and then post this to the blog. Adios.

Finals...again

Well today wasn't so bad except it was boring. We had another finals day but actually I didn't have any finals today. It turns out in science we didn't have a final to take but I found out at lunch that in orchestra we actually did have a final. Too bad Angelos wasn't there to give it to us. Instead we had a sub who didn't have the first idea about anything music related. But we went into chamber groups. My chamber group is comprised of Catherine, Katreen (my friends), Carla and I plus we smuggled one of the other 2nd violins in who wasn't in a group so we stole him so he can beat on the wall for us since we can't hear my metronome while all of us are palying. Although we only had Catherine, Katreen, and I playing because Carla's ring finger is in a splint which makes it kinda hard to play. We're play Für Elise for our chamber piece. I'm sure you've heard it but you've probably never heard it's name but it's a famous piece by Beethoven. If you want to hear it youtube it. After that since we had a 2 hour class we broke into sectionals and we went over Divertimento and Rhosymedre and a little bit over the Red Pony. Then I had Spanish class. We basically organized our notebooks and turned them in for the notebook check. After that my group plus 4 other people went out into the halls to finish filming our Spanish final project. Thank God we're finally done because Sarah was really getting on my nerves. So now I'm at home just typing away. My sister shouldn't be home for atleast naothe rhalf an hour because she's at some stupid middle school dance or something. Whatever it gives me an extra hour away from her. Well I must go check the mail and start violin practice. Tata for now. Oh and if you're wondering that picture is a picture of Beethoven. Not very pretty is he?

Finals

Hey we had half our finals today. I swear if I had to be quiet for any longer I'd go crazy. In first period it wasn't too bad because my partner and I were working the whole time on our health website because we only had 2 out of 4 people since one of them was never there from the start and one of them moved like 2 weeks ago. But we finally got it done. Since we were doing the odd periods third period was next meaning English. Since my English class is on the 2nd floor I had 2nd lunch (so did my friend Katreen because she was in a portable but poor Catherine was on the first floor and had first lunch) so I had class first. I easily finished the English final and was bored for at least an hour. So instead of sleeping like I normally would I wrote a cryptic note in the new code I have which is easy to translate if you know how and you know the code word. My code word happens to be violin and to translate it all you do is substitute every letter for the letter behind it in the alphabet except a letter that appears in the word violin (meaning v, i, o, l, and n) so if you get to a letter that equals itself you just go back until you get a letter that doesnt equal itself example: I kwtu lovf xsiuinh in ujit doef! which translates to I just love writing in this code! and the best thing is it's almost impossible to translate unless you can guess the person's code and obviously your code might be different from somebody else's. But I can't really take credit for making the code. Actually it came from the Gregor and the Marks of Secret good series by the way if you want to read it but I would suggest you start at the first book (marks of secret is the 4th). Anyway I left it on the desk on purpose with an uncoded message telling them to crack the code. They'll never get it and the codeword's in the note twice and since all those letters equal themselves you can't code your codeword which makes it totally easy since there's only a few small words that don't look coded and the word violin and the rest just looks like gibberish. Anyway I also had my math exam too so that went well. It was easy and after I did the exam I had to do the test that got cancelled after the bomb threat. Speaking of which they arrested the third and final person that they beleive is involved in that. So that's good. Also tonight I had church which I love so much. Tonight we palyed a game call money on your back where we all had partners and when the music played we all wandered around and got lost from your partner and when the music stopped you try to find them and not be the last pair to have your partner on your back. The only thang that bugged me was this really cute guy at youth group. He's a freshman liek me and I won't say his name but just know he's really cute. Anyway I'm not sure if he wasn't feeling well or if he was in a bad mood or what but I could just tell somethign was up. Nobody else seemed to see any difference but I did. The first thing is he was wearing like this huge scarf and huge jacket which he normally doesn't wear. Also he's in the high school worship band and he plays guitar. So usually he stands up there and just plays and looks happy. Tonight he looked kind of out of it and he was sitting. Which is weird for him. Anyway maybew I'm just paranoid or whatever but it really did seem like somethign was wrong. I wish I'd had a chance to talk to him before my stepmom came in and whisked me away. Oh well. Maybe next week? Speaking of next week this weekend my sister's going to Camas meadows which is the middle school winter camp so I'll be rid of her ALL weekend!!! Maybe even part of superbowl so that'll be totally aweosme! Well I guess I have to sign off for now because I actually have to sleep (imagine that actually sleeping before finals!) Peace!

First Everett Youth Symphony rehearsal

Ello. I'm back. You can't get rid of me that easy. Well yesterday was my first Everett Youth Symphony practice. It went pretty well considering i've only run through each piece a total of once (I didn't know what it really sounded like and I wanted to hear it before I got some bad habit on a certain piece lodged in my brain because then it's harder to correct). It turns out my friend Catherine and I are like the only ones from the intermezzo group in high school so we feel like were sitting at the kids' table. Oh well maybe next year we get to sit at the grownup table. I swear there's a girl in my sectional who's like half my age and the 2nd chair in the 1st violin section has to be at least 4 or 5 years younger than my sister (who's 11) so I feel kinda slow. Anyway the music is fairly easy. I wish I had tried out at the beginning of the year so amybe I'd at least be a first violin like I am in class instead of having to be a second and play the boring part just because that's where they had room for me. At least I got to sit in the seat of principle second because I guess the girl who's normally there wasn't. Although I'm absolutely positive I could easily be the principle second the whole time. I mean I just joined and I could count how many times on one hand that I got corrected and usually it was just because all the other players had a different fingering written in then what was actually on the paper because it was changed. So it shall be fun. In other news tomorrow we have finals. Oh joy. I have to finish my 1st period health project which is a health website. And it's obviously not going to be done on time because we were supposed to have 4 members in our group but for all of the project we've had 3 plus our project manager moved to Bellevue. Soooooo it won't be good. Then I have my English final which is basically on the Odyssey and vocab and its open notes. For Math it'll be like any other test. Thursday I have my Science finals which is just another test. Since 4th period is orchestra we don't have a final for that class and then for Spanish we're doing a project for the finals. Yeah too bad my partner won't frickin help me so it won't be done on time. So we've been working on this for awhile. She was good when were making the script but when it comes to filming she's not cooperating. See I didn't really have a choice in my partner because we picked our own partner so since I was pretty much ignored I didn't have a partner (usually I'm the first one claimed not because i'm popular or anything but because I happen to pay attention and I have a phonographic memory so as soon as I hear something I remember it) so I was assigned to the partner I have (names won't be mentioned) because she was absent. So for the past 2 days we've had the whole period to go out and film but we had a hard time finding people to actually film, hold cue cards, and be our extra people. We finally found people but she was "too embarassed" to film in front of other people and there's only like 2 so it's really stupid especially since we were one of the last groups to film and we needed to get it done soon. So she wanted to film it afterschool and have some of her friends stay after and help. So she got one friend. Which doesn't really help at all since we needed 3. So we ended up finding 2 more of her friends and we finally got scene 1 out of 5 done. Too bad afterwards all she wanted to do was talk to them instead of finishing filming so were STILL not done and I'm getting really annoyed. And on top of that I kept bugging her to leave so we can continue filming which made me seem like the bad guy. So I'm really about to complain to my Spanish teacher which won't help anything because finals are due like really soon so it's too late. I have an A in that class right now but if I get a bad grade or a 0 on this final it'll send my Spanish grade into a downward spiral. Which is a very bad thing in high school because I can't afford Ds and Fs not really even Cs if it can be helped. At least tomorrow I get to sleep in an extra hour since school begins and hour later. I'm wearing my lucky turtle necklace that I wore when I had my audition for the symphony. I'll also be wearing it to church tomorrow night and see if it brings me any luck there because there's a really cute guy there who's actually in the worship band and plays guitar. His name is Felipe and he is sooooo cute. Well good night I need to get a good night's sleep before finals. Wish me luck.

scaryness

Ok so there's big news in my part of the world. I'll start with a detour. So this morning was like any other morning. I got up, showered, did hair and makeup, etc. So again it's still normal so I walk to school like always. This is the weird part. I get to school and nobody's there. Well actually they do ahve cops there and people standing around and other people telling Mariner students to walk to the middle school next door but there was nobody IN the school or parking lot. At first I thought it was a crash or something. That would explain the police cars. Then I see a kid named Aaron from my science class and ask him what's going on. Apparently there was a bomb threat so school is cancelled for the day. Kinda scary huh? You know if you were really going to set off a bomb would you really tell people? I bet they left that note just to get out of school you know. But hey it means I have no school. Only problem is well actually there's two. See in Spanish class we're doing a project an my partner Sarah and I were supposed to go after school today and film our's but obviously that's not happening. Another thing is my violin is in my locker. I can't leave it there. Reason #1: I got my symphony music in the mail yesterday so I need to go over it. Reason #2: If I leave it there it'll be there all weekend and if the school isn't heated over the weekend my instrument might go out of tune, warp, crack, or strings might snap. None of those are good things. I'm thinking of going over there when the dogs are done and they declare it ok I might see if I can get in to get my instrument.

The last 2 days

Where have I been the last 2 days you ask? oh you know. Around. Well Monday we had off (thank you Martin Luther King) of school so we went shopping at southcenter (its very big) and I bought khaki cargo pants, one of those fake layered shirts with snoopie on it, and a $60 reversible hoodie from pac sun. Also I got my pink streaks touched up with my mom's help. Only she forgot to use one of the gloves so it looks like she murdered tinkerbell. let's see oh yes! I made the Everett Youth Symphony. I'm in the intermezzo group and I'm a 2nd violin. I was hoping for a higher group or at least first violin like what I play in class but they just put me in where they had room since it's the middle of the year. That's ok I'll just work my way up then. It's not like you can't notice a violinist with pink hair right? I also went to the doctor yesterday and got an MMR vaccine which kinda hurt. Not too bad but my arm is still weak. On the bright side I now have a pretty yellow band aid on my left arm. well it's almost time for me to vamoose to school so bye bye! Note: The pic may look like modern art but it's an electric violin.

Almost forgotten (but very important) news

I almost forgot! I'm getting a driver's ed course starting on February 24th so I'll be getting my permit on Valentines day! I'm totally psyched! Who wouldn't be? The picture is a picture of an 87 dodge daytona Shelby Z whch is what I'll be driving asmy first car. It's not mine but it's about that same color.

My Experience with the Four Year Olds

Well today is (as anybody who doesn't live under a rock knows) Sunday. Meaning church day. So usually I have a high school class that I go to called ASM but this week it was cancelled because almost everybody went to Rockridge winter camp up in BC, Canada but obviously I didn't go but I didn't really want to. Imean I can't ski or snowboard and I'm not willing to try my hand at breaking any bones so it seems pointless to go. So anyway instead I decided to help out at the nursery. I chose four year olds because they seem easiest because it's the oldest age in the nursery. Boy was I wrong! It was fun anyway but it's like watching a room full of time bombs you know? No make that a room full of time bombs inside bouncy balls because they were just everywhere! So I get there and first I hang out with the kids. You know help set up the doll house. Stuff like that. After that it's story time. Today's theme was families so they did a thing on Adam and Eve and Caine and Abel. This is funny. So the guy telling the story says: "Well after Adam and Eve had Caine God decided to bless them with another baby. Who was that baby?" Then one of the kids says: "Baby Jesus?" Kids! They say the darnest things! Also we were talking about grandparents and this little boy raises his hand and says: "I have an aunt who's 99 years old!" and the story teller asks if hes waiting for her to die and of course he says yes. That just cracked me up. So after that we sang the little kids songs including the head, shoulders, knees, and toes song. I now remember why I always hated that songs. It wouldn't be so bad except for all the motions. My God! so after song time it was craft time. The craft was a picture of a house with 4 little flap things and behind each flap is a picture of a member of their family. That went ok. Then it was snack time. There were Ritz crackers and water and while I was pouring water one of the boys was telling me about how many points he had on his Wii. Yeah too bad I can't really play Wii. I had to have a four year old that I babysat in October teach me how to play! Anyway after that there was more free time. Some of the kids wanted me to help with the doll house again so I did. One of the kids handed me a tray of fake food. It was soooo cute! And that concludes my time with the 4 year olds. You know what I also found out from the teacher I was sharing a table with at craft time? Her son is in the Everett Youth Symphony which is what I triedout for last Monday. Hopefully I get accepted but I haven't heard a thing yet so I'm getting kinda worried. Oh well. So it seems I have one reader at least. Thank you Pepper!

Book Review: Maximum Ride (#s1 and 2)

Hello nonexistent readers. Time for post numero dos. Hey I rhymed. Aren't I clever? well technically it's an approximate rhyme. Anyway today I've decided on doing a book review for a book that my orchestra buddy Catherine reccomended. The Maximum Ride books by James Patterson. I'm almost done with the second one and I just can't put it down! Well you know except to blog it. This book is about 6 kids named (in order from youngest to oldest) Angel, Gazzy, Nudge, Iggy, Fang, and Max (they also have a talking dog named Total) who are pretty much super human avion human hybrids. So they have wings and they can fly. When they were babies they were stolen away from their parents and basically used as lab rats. Finally they escaped from this lab nicknamed "The School" with the help of one of the white coats, Jeb Batchelder. Two years later he disappeared and Max was the one taking care of her flock. Of course just because they escaped doesn't mean nobody's looking for them. You see Max was created with a specific purpose in mind, to save the world from a company looking to take over the world called Itex. So they kind of have these things called Erasers (human wolf mix also used to guard the school) chasing them and trying to kill them. At the same time the flock istrying to get away and find out about their parents at the same time. So the flock must use the best of all their weird powers to survive this dangerous mission. This series recieves a 5 star rating from me and I'm not easy to please as far as books go. If you're looking for a book that seems like an action movie Iwould suggest the Maximum Ride series. If you're interested the first book is called Angel Experiment and the second is called School's Out - Forever.

Welcome to my blog

Hello my name is Carissa (insert a last name that sounds good here because you're not finding out the real one). I am a 15 year old freshman that goes to MHS (use your imagination to give a name to the acronym) and I'm in the Seattle area (once again This specific is unavailable). I am the teenage philotechnic of the title. If you don't know what a philotechnic is then google it. Just kidding. A philotechnic is a lover of the arts. I love riting poetry and I'm not bad at writing short stories. If you find a poetry site that will actually give you the money they promse if they publish you and don't ask for any money to be published you make sure to let me know because at this point I've nearly given up on looking for an honest publisher. I do like photography. I haven't really done any to sumbit to any photography contests but my mom tells me I'm pretty good with the camera. Too bad I can't take a decent picture of myself. Oh well I don't like to be on that side of the camera anyway. Maybe that's because I'm a girl and I "lack self esteem" like many of my peers these days.
